Team Crafty Fox and their Renault Megane visiting the Magpas Air Ambulance Team ahead of their challenge
Adrian and Deb are Team Crafty Fox and are embarking on a charity banger rally partly with motorscape across Europe on September 7th 2019. We caught up with them a little while ago to hear their story:
Our challenge will see us drive from home in Cambridgeshire to Venice and home via France, Belgium,Germany, Austria, Italy, Switzerland and maybe Luxembourg and the Netherlands depending on time,as we have 8 days to cover all the miles (approximately 3000). If that wasn’t tough enough it will all be done in a £500 Renault Megane Sport. All done to support Magpas Air Ambulance, which is why we’ve opted for the orange Megane!
We chose yourselves purely because you are a local charity and if ourselves or our friends or family ever needed you, it’s nice knowing that you are still going and able to help. Part of the rally is in an organised group with several other teams raising money for various charity’s.
We may be ambitious trying to raise £3000 in a short space of time leading up to the rally but Magpas Air Ambulance is very worthy. It cost Magpas £2,584 a day to operate their helicopter. Magpas respond on average to 4 emergencies each day. I’m sure if anyone ever needed them they would like to know that they are able to fly them out of a life threatening emergency.
