Philanthropic leadership helps us reach people in their most urgent time of need throughout Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and across the East of England, whilst pioneering the advancement of PHEM across the UK.

Why Magpas Air Ambulance?

Since 1971, Magpas Air Ambulance has existed to save lives and limit disability in our community.

More than 50 years later, our mission remains the same—and our lifesaving service is in more demand than ever before.

Magpas Air Ambulance’s 24/7 service cares for a population of over 10 million people. Our advanced medical team combines the skills of a senior doctor and critical care paramedic on every shift.

All members of the team are specially trained in Pre-Hospital Emergency Medicine (PHEM), supporting ambulance service teams by providing world-class advanced medical care directly to patients when every second counts.

In 2025, we experienced our busiest year on record, with our advanced medical team being dispatched 1,948 times across 12 counties. The team treated 1,177 patients aged between 27 days and 99 years in life-threatening emergencies. A total of 1,874 hours was spent attending missions, with 61,285 miles undertaken by our rapid response vehicles and 27,440 miles travelled by our helicopter.

The demand of our service is increasing year on year, and we are proud, with your support, to be able to respond when critically ill and injured patients need us most. We receive no regular state funding. We can only provide lifesaving care thanks to the generous support of our donors and philanthropic partners.

The impact of your support

Equipment

£2,000 could help fund specialist lifesaving equipment, from simulation manikins to life monitors; ensuring our expert clinicians are equipped to deliver lifesaving care.

Education

As the providers of PHEM training to the highest number of doctors in the UK, £5,000 could fund education for our clinicians; and help us to continue providing lifesaving CPR training in local communities.

Core

A gift of £10,000 helps us to be there for people when they need us most. Core funding allows us to direct funds where they are most urgently needed, enhancing our resilience and adaptability to advance patient care.

Patient care

£25,000 can help us to deliver the best patient care, by funding vital drugs and supplies that we need on every mission to continue saving lives in your local communities.

Aftercare

£50,000 could help us to deliver and develop our aftercare services for our patients and their families, providing vital support and care throughout what can often be a lengthy and challenging road to recovery.

Research

We are proud to be pioneers in critical care research. A gift of £100,000 can help us continue our current research and fund new research into treatments and care to benefit patients now and in the future.

We need to raise £6.5m each year to fund our vital work

"Philanthropic donations are not only about building infrastructure and purchasing equipment; they are about investing in our human potential, in resilience and in the future of pre-hospital emergency medicine.

At Magpas Air Ambulance, we are profoundly grateful to those whose philanthropic vision and donations make our work possible. Your commitment ensures that, together, we are not only saving lives today, but also laying the foundations for lifesaving innovation for generations to come."
