Air Ambulance Week 2025 takes off across the UK from 8–14 September, raising awareness of the lifesaving work of the country’s 21 air ambulance charities.

This national awareness week, organised by Air Ambulances UK, brings together air ambulance charities from across the UK to share one powerful message: ‘Every mission starts with you.’

Air ambulance crews are dispatched to over 134 lifesaving missions every day across the UK, and each of those missions is powered almost entirely by public support.

This week, Magpas Air Ambulance, the lifesaving charity based in Cambridgeshire, has secured match funding from local organisation Taste Flavourings Cambridge and philanthropist Rowhi Nemar. This support means donations made to Magpas Air Ambulance by Sunday, 14th September (up to £6,000) will be doubled.

Other individuals, businesses and communities are supporting the charity throughout the week, too. Bucket collections and corporate fundraising days and events are taking place in aid of the lifesaving service this Air Ambulance Week, and local landmarks, such as Ely and Peterborough Cathedrals, are lighting up in orange to help raise awareness.

Magpas Air Ambulance’s Director of Income and Engagement, Lucy Chapman, says: “We’re incredibly grateful for all the support the local community is showing our charity this Air Ambulance Week. Magpas Air Ambulance relies on donations to be able to operate 24/7, so if you would like to get involved, I encourage you to make a donation while this fantastic match funding opportunity is in place. Every pound makes a difference.”

Magpas Air Ambulance’s specialist doctors and paramedics provide care that is usually only available in a hospital to critically ill and injured patients, wherever their incident occurs. This early, advanced intervention saves lives and keeps families together around the clock across Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire and surrounding counties.

Lucy Chapman continues, “Magpas Air Ambulance relies on public donations to continue providing this service in your community. Double your donation, and your impact, this Air Ambulance Week by donating before Sunday, 14th September. Just visit magpas.org.uk/aaw.”
