Dhakshinamoorthy Vijayasankar

Vijay is an emergency medicine consultant who joined the charity in 2009. His other roles include emergency medicine high specialty training programme director for Health Education England; divisional director for urgent and emergency care at North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust; and lead of the medical training initiative for the Royal College of Emergency Medicine.

Vijay is also a founding member of the emergency medicine foundation programme delivered by the Royal College of Emergency Medicine internationally and organises educational training courses for emergency medicine trainees in India. With so much of his work focused on supervision and training, Vijay sees his time with Magpas Air Ambulance as a way to concentrate on what made him fall in love with emergency medicine in the first place; having direct patient contact and being able to personally provide advanced medical care to those most in need.
