On the day that the East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust (EEAST) are urging as many people as possible to download the ‘life-saving’ What3Words app, Magpas Air Ambulance CEO Daryl Brown, explains:

“Magpas Air Ambulance are very happy the local emergency services and the Ambulance Service are working with what3words to launch in the East of England. Magpas Air Ambulance attends the most critically injured patients and these medical emergencies can happen anywhere, and at any time of the day.

We know that in these stressful circumstances it can be really difficult to pinpoint your location, that’s where what3words can make all of the difference; by using their app you can easily pin point your location to an exact 1 meter square anywhere in the world. Having an accurate location to find our patients from our helicopter, or in one of our rapid response vehicles means we can get lifesaving care to our patients as quickly as possible. We would encourage people to download the app and give your what3words location when you dial 999.”
