Leaving a gift in your will
With over 50 years’ experience of saving people’s lives, we have vast expertise in the field of pre-hospital emergency medical care. But we need your support to do more.
Magpas Air Ambulance started life in 1971 with doctors attending the scenes of road traffic accidents across Cambridgeshire in order to provide much-needed lifesaving emergency medical care. As a volunteer-led charity, it was a gift in a will that enabled Magpas Air Ambulance to buy the essential equipment needed to establish this pioneering service.
We can only continue to bring the very best pre-hospital emergency care because of our supporters’ incredible generosity. Gifts in wills have helped the charity to develop into a 24/7 service, treating patients across 12 counties in the East of England and serving a population of over 10 million.
In the past five years, gifts in wills have raised nearly £2.3 million and are vital to the development and continued operation of the charity. In that crucial moment of need, a legacy left to Magpas Air Ambulance could provide critical lifesaving care to a patient who, quite simply may not survive without them.
The essence of having a will is to share what you deem to be precious to you and make sure your loved ones have your support, long into the future. We understand how important this is, but after you’ve made sure your family are cared for, we hope that you would consider leaving a gift in your will to Magpas Air Ambulance.
Each activation costs, on average, just over £2,500. As a charity and not a government-funded service, the service would cease to operate if it wasn’t for our loyal supporters. However big or small, leaving a gift in your will to Magpas Air Ambulance is an amazing way to show your support. By leaving a gift, you could;
- Help keep our helicopter flying and our rapid response vehicles on the road
- Help train senior doctors and paramedics in the cutting-edge pre-hospital care that we know saves lives
- Help supply all the pharmaceuticals, medical equipment and protective wear our team need to do their job
Donating a gift in your will to Magpas Air Ambulance could help fund the lifesaving drugs or vital equipment that can give the most seriously injured or critically injured people across the region hospital level care by the roadside, in their home, or wherever they may be, at whatever time they need us. You would be cementing your own legacy by helping keep these families together.
There are several ways you can include a gift in your will to Magpas Air Ambulance, but the main two are through either:
- A pecuniary gift (a specific sum of money)
- A residual gift (typically a share of your property). Leaving even 1% of your estate to Magpas Air Ambulance can make such a significant difference to our future.
