Stagecoach East employees hike Snowdon

Three Stagecoach East employees are hiking to the summit of Mount Snowdon, the highest peak in Wales and the second highest in the UK, to raise money for Magpas Air Ambulance.

This fundraising effort comes after the Cambridgeshire-based charity, which saves lives across the East of England 24/7, treated colleagues of theirs last month.

Lewis Freemantle, Depot Controller for Stagecoach, explains, “Magpas Air Ambulance gave exceptional care to some of our very close colleagues during a critical time. They were on scene quickly, delivering advanced, hospital-level treatment that made a real difference. We will always be grateful for their professionalism, compassion and speed—and that they were there when our team needed them most.”

As a company that prides itself on supporting the community, Lewis and his colleagues, Adam Backshall and Ross Burton, who are both drivers, decided to take on this challenge to give something back.

Lewis continues, “We're fundraising for Magpas Air Ambulance because they provide lifesaving emergency care when it’s needed most. What makes this even more powerful is knowing that Magpas Air Ambulance is a charity completely funded by donations. They don’t receive regular government funding—they rely entirely on the generosity of supporters to keep flying and saving lives.

“Without those donations, they might not have been available that day to provide the fast, expert care our colleagues so urgently needed.

“Every donation helps. Every pound supports this amazing team to keep doing what they do best—saving lives. Please give what you can, and thank you for supporting a cause that means so much to us.”

The team set off on their hike this weekend (17th May). If you wish to show your support, you can donate via their JustGiving page.
