At 2:34pm this afternoon (6th) Magpas Doctor Steve Corry-Bass and Paramedic Ollie Robinson landed in March via the Magpas Air Ambulance. They had been called to treat a man who had suffered a cardiac arrest.
Fortunately, when the Magpas enhanced medical team arrived the patient had received bystander CPR and an EEAST Ambulance Service paramedic crew were providing the man (in his 80's) with advanced life support. The Magpas doctor-paramedic team then assessed the patient and placed him into a medically induced coma at the scene (providing him with A&E level care), before accompanying him to Peterborough City Hospital via land ambulance. The man was in a critical condition upon arrival.
Cambridgeshire Police and the Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service were also in attendance.
The helicopter crew who flew the medical team were Pilot Paul Nolan and Crewmember Rob Davies.
