Wimblington, multi-vehicle collision – Magpas Air Ambulance called to scene

At 8:50pm last night (8th), Magpas Doctor Magpas Doctor Sam Todd and Paramedic Keiran Bromley arrived in the Wimblington area via a Magpas Air Ambulance rapid response BMW. The EEAST Ambulance Service had requested their hospital level skills at the scene of a multi-vehicle road traffic collision.

The Magpas enhanced medical team assessed a young boy who had sustained head injuries and gave him advanced pain relief (providing A&E level care at the roadside). They then worked alongside an EEAST Ambulance Service paramedic crew and Cambridgeshire Fire & Rescue Service to safely remove the young patient and an adult male who were both trapped inside one of the vehicles.

Both patients were then taken to Peterborough City Hospital, in a stable condition, by land ambulance.

Cambridgeshire Police were also in attendance.
