Waterbeach, fallen tree vs car – Magpas Air Ambulance called to him

At 5:37am this morning (18th) Magpas Doctor Richard Booker and Paramedic Ollie Robinson arrived in Waterbeach, Cambridgeshire via a Magpas Air Ambulance rapid response vehicle. They had been called to treat a man who had been seriously injured in a collision between a car and a fallen tree – following the strong winds overnight.

The Magpas enhanced medical team assessed the patient (in his 60’s) who had sustained serious leg injuries. They gave the man advanced pain relief and sedated him at the scene (providing him with A&E level care) before accompanying him to Addenbrooke’s Hospital via land ambulance. The patient was in a very serious but stable condition upon arrival.

An EEAST Ambulance Service paramedic crew, Cambridgeshire Police and the Fire and Rescue Service were also in attendance.
