Wansford, 2x lorry collision – Magpas Air Ambulance flies to scene

At 10:39am yesterday morning (14th) Magpas Doctor Daniel Sedgewick, Paramedic Andy Ormiston and Doctor Tristan Dyer landed in Wansford via the Magpas Air Ambulance. They had been called to treat a man who had been seriously injured in a collision between two lorries.

The Magpas enhanced medical team assessed the patient (in his 20’s) who had sustained serious leg and foot injuries and gave him advanced pain relief at the scene (providing him with A&E level care). They then airlifted the man to Addenbrooke’s Hospital, where he was in a very serious but stable condition upon arrival.

The helicopter crew who flew the patient and medical team were Pilot Ben Cinque and Crewmember Rob Davies.

An EEAST Ambulance Service paramedic crew, Cambridgeshire Police and the Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service were all also in attendance.

We have no further information.
