St Neots, man injured in a fall from height – Magpas Air Ambulance called to scene

At 4.46pm yesterday afternoon (27th) Magpas Doctor Mark Tehan and Paramedic Steve Chambers landed in a rural location near St Neots, Cambridgeshire via the Magpas Air Ambulance. They had been called to treat a man who had sustained a serious leg injury in a fall from height.

The Magpas enhanced medical team assessed the patient (in his 50’s) who had badly broken bones and sedated him at the scene (providing him with A&E level care) in order to protect his injuries. They then accompanied the man to Bedford Hospital via land ambulance, providing him with ongoing pain relief and monitoring his condition the whole way. The patient was in a stable condition upon arrival.

The helicopter crew who flew the medical team were Pilot Andy Figg and Crewmember George Phillips.

An EEAST Ambulance Service paramedic crew were also in attendance.
