Rayleigh, woman suffers leg injury – Magpas Air Ambulance flies to the scene

At 10.24am this morning (17th) Magpas Doctor Richard Booker and Paramedic Chris Hawkins flew to Rayleigh, Essex via the Magpas Air Ambulance. They had been called by the East of England Ambulance Service (EEAST) to treat a woman who had sustained a leg injury.

The Magpas enhanced medical team assessed the patient (in her 70’s) and sedated her and administered advanced pain relief, providing A&E level care at the scene. This allowed the team to splint the injury before accompanying the woman by land ambulance to Southend University Hospital. She was in a stable condition upon arrival.

An EEAST paramedic crew and Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) were also in attendance.
