Peterborough house fire – Magpas Helimedix called out

At 6:20pm last night (6th), Magpas Helimedix (Doctor Alex Cross and Paramedic Dan Read) arrived in the Bretton area of Peterborough, via the Magpas Helimedix Rapid Response BMW – after a house fire.

Cambridgeshire Fire & Rescue crews safely evacuated a woman (in her 50’s), who suffered burns and serious smoke inhalation. The Magpas team worked alongside BASICS Doctor (Dr Drew Welch), to anaesthetise the patient and to treat her injuries (providing her with A&E level critical care). The Helimedix then accompanied the woman to Peterborough City Hospital by land ambulance. On arrival at the hospital, she was in a serious but stable condition.

Two EEAST Ambulance Rapid Response Paramedics, an EEAST Ambulance Crew, A Human Touch Private Ambulance and a HART Crew were also present.

The Magpas Helimedix would like to say a huge thank you to all the Emergency Services at the scene, where everyone worked extremely well together.

This is all the information we have at present.
