Peterborough, 2x lorry collision – Magpas Air Ambulance flies to scene

At 2:12pm yesterday afternoon (5th) Magpas Doctor Adriana Cordier and Paramedic Dan Phillips landed in Peterborough via the Magpas Air Ambulance. They had been called to treat a man who had been injured and left trapped in a collision between two lorries.

The Magpas enhanced medical team assessed the patient (in his 50’s), who had sustained multiple injuries and worked alongside a Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue crew and a Hazardous Area Response Team to safely extricate the patient from the lorry. They gave the man advanced pain relief at the scene (providing him with A&E level care), before accompanying him to Addenbrooke’s Hospital via land ambulance. He was in a stable condition upon arrival.

An EEAST Ambulance Service paramedic crew and Cambridgeshire Police were also in attendance.
