Nr Flitwick, woman injured in fall from horse – Magpas Air Ambulance flies to scene

At 5.10pm yesterday afternoon (19th) Magpas Doctor Rosie Dwyer and Paramedic Ollie Robinson landed in a rural location east of Flitwick, Bedfordshire via the Magpas Air Ambulance. They had been called to treat a woman who had been injured in a fall from a horse.

The Magpas enhanced medical team assessed the patient (in her 20’s) who had sustained a serious leg injury before sedating her at the scene (providing her with A&E level care). They then accompanied the woman via land ambulance to Luton and Dunstable Hospital, where she was in a stable condition upon arrival.

The helicopter crew who flew the medical team were Pilot Andy Figg and Crewmember Steve Hunwicks.

An EEAST Ambulance Service paramedic crew were also in attendance.
