Nr Alconbury, serious multi-vehicle collision – Magpas Air Ambulance called to scene

At 7:29pm yesterday evening (24th) Magpas Doctor Mike Carachi and Paramedic Steve Chambers arrived in rural location west of Alconbury via a Magpas Air Ambulance rapid response vehicle. They had been called to a serious multi-vehicle road traffic collision, in which several people were injured.

The Magpas enhanced medical team assessed three patients. One of which was a man (in his 80’s) who had suffered multiple, serious injuries and they sedated him at the scene (providing him with A&E level care) before accompanying him to Addenbrooke’s Hospital via land ambulance. The man was in a serious condition upon arrival.

The Magpas doctor-paramedic team also assessed two women (one in her 50’s and one in her 70’s), who fortunately hadn’t suffered any life-threatening injuries and were left in the care of EEAST Ambulance Service paramedic crews.

Cambridgeshire Police and the Fire and Rescue Service were also in attendance.

We have no further information.
