Little Downham, woman seriously injured in fall from horse – Magpas Air Ambulance flies to her

At 2:19pm yesterday afternoon (1st) Magpas Doctor Adriana Cordier, Paramedic Andy Smith and Doctor Simon Lewis landed in Little Downham via the Magpas Air Ambulance. They had been called to treat a young woman who had been injured in a fall from a horse.

The Magpas enhanced medical team assessed the young woman (in her teens) who had sustained a head injury. They provided the patient with A&E level care at the scene in order to protect her injuries, before airlifting her to Addenbrooke’s Hospital for ongoing care. She was in a very serious but stable condition upon arrival.

The helicopter crew who flew the medical team and patient were Chief Pilot Richard Eastwood and Crewmember Matt Tacon.

An EEAST Ambulance Service paramedic crew were also in attendance.
