Letchworth Garden City, man suffers a collapse – Magpas Air Ambulance fly to him

At 8:48am this morning (25th) Magpas Doctor Steve Corry-Bass and Paramedic Alex Pearce landed in Letchworth Garden City via the Magpas Air Ambulance. They had been called to treat a man who had suffered a collapse.

The Magpas enhanced medical team assessed the patient (in his 80’s) and placed him in a medically induced coma at the scene (providing him with A&E level care). They then accompanied the patient to Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge via land ambulance, monitoring his condition throughout. The patient was in a stable condition upon arrival.

The helicopter crew who flew the medical team were Pilot Andy Figg and Crewmember Simon Amos.

An EEAST Ambulance Service paramedic crew were also in attendance.
