Huntingdon, car collapses onto man – Magpas Air Ambulance called to him

At 10:21am this morning (11th), Magpas Doctor Peter Holden and Paramedic Dan Cody arrived in the Huntingdon area via a Magpas Air Ambulance rapid response car. They had been called to treat a man, who had been working underneath a car he was restoring, when the jack failed and the car dropped on top of him.

The Magpas enhanced medical team assessed the man (in his 60s) who had sustained serious chest injuries. They provided him with advanced pain relief (giving him A&E level care) before accompanying him to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in a land ambulance. The patient was in a stable condition upon arrival at hospital.

An EEAST Ambulance Service paramedic crew and a Cambridgeshire Fire & Rescue Service crew were also in attendance.
