Higham Ferrers, 2x car collision – Magpas Air Ambulance called to scene

At 8:39am this morning (9th) Magpas Doctor Ali Hieatt and Paramedic Steve Chambers arrived in Higham Ferrers via a Magpas Air Ambulance rapid response vehicle. They had been called to the scene of a serious 2x car collision.

The Magpas enhanced medical team assessed a patient (in his late teens) who had sustained severe head injuries and placed him into a medically induced coma at the scene (providing him with A&E level care), before accompanying him to Coventry Hospital via land ambulance. The patient was in a stable condition upon arrival.

The Magpas Doctor-Paramedic team also assessed a second man at the scene (in his 40’s) who fortunately hadn’t suffered any life-threatening injuries and was left in the care of an EMAS Ambulance Service paramedic crew.

Northamptonshire Police and the Fire and Rescue Service were also in attendance.
