Hertford, multi-vehicle collision – Magpas Air Ambulance flies to scene

At 8:29am yesterday morning (Saturday 7th), Magpas Doctor Charlotte Haldane and Paramedic Andy Ormiston arrived in Hertford via the Magpas Air Ambulance. They had been called to treat a man who had been severely injured in a multi-vehicle collision.

The Magpas enhanced medical team assessed the patient (in his 30’s) who had sustained multiple injuries. They sedated the man at the scene (providing him with critical A&E level care) and gave him blood, before accompanying him to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in a land ambulance (monitoring his condition all the way). The patient was in a very serious condition upon arrival.

EEAST Ambulance Service paramedic crews also treated two other patients at the scene of the incident.

The Magpas Air Ambulance helicopter crew, who flew the Magpas medical team, were Pilot Chris Sherriff and Crewmember Simon Amos.

Hertfordshire Police and Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service were also in attendance.
