Eaton Socon, pedestrian vs car – Magpas Air Ambulance flies to scene

At 10:48am yesterday morning (21st) Magpas Doctor Jono Ritson and Paramedic Steve Chambers landed in Eaton Socon via the Magpas Air Ambulance. They had been called to treat a pedestrian who had suffered a life changing leg injury, following a collision with a car.

The Magpas enhanced medical team used their expert skills and knowledge to assess the patient (in his 70s). The doctor and paramedic team gave the man advanced pain relief and worked alongside an EEAST Ambulance Service paramedic crew to straighten and splint his leg. They then accompanied the patient by land ambulance to Bedford Hospital (monitoring his condition all the way). Upon arrival at the hospital, the man was in a stable condition.

The helicopter crew who flew the medical team and patient were Chief Pilot Richard Eastwood and Crewmember Lee Kennedy.

Cambridgeshire Police were also in attendance.
