At 3pm this afternoon (12th), Magpas Helimedix (Doctor Ali Tompkins and Paramedic Dan Read) arrived at a field in the Downham Market area, via the Magpas Helimedix Air Ambulance – after a man (in his 70’s) was thrown from a horse and trap.
The Magpas team assessed the patient who suffered chest injuries and administered pain relief. The Helimedix then flew the man to Addenbrooke’s Hospital (monitoring his condition all the way). On arrival at the hospital, the patient was in a very comfortable condition.
The Helicopter team who flew the Helimedix to the sceneand the patient with the Helimedix to hospital was: Pilot Richard Eastwood and Crew Member Steve Hunwicks.
An EEAST Ambulance Crew, a Rapid Response Paramedic and a BASICS Doctor were also present. All the Emergency Services worked extremely well together.
