Chatteris, van vs lorry – Magpas Air Ambulance flies to the scene

At 3.47pm on Monday afternoon (13th) Magpas Doctors Jono Ritson and Maria Smith, and Paramedic Ollie Robinson, landed in Chatteris via the Magpas Air Ambulance. They had been called by the EEAST Ambulance Service to treat a man injured in a collision between a van and a lorry.

The Magpas enhanced medical team assessed the man (in his 30s) who was trapped inside a vehicle and had sustained minor injuries. They assisted in extricating him from the vehicle and provided him with pain relief. The man was then taken by an EEAST Ambulance Service paramedic crew to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in a stable condition.

The helicopter crew who flew the medical team and patient were Chief Pilot Richard Eastwood and Crewmember Roger Sheridan.

Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service and Cambridgeshire Police were also in attendance.
