Bedford van incident – Magpas Helimedix fly to scene
At 10:02am this morning, Magpas Helimedix (Doctor Phil Morgan and Paramedic Ash Richardson) arrived near Bletsoe, in the Magpas Helimedix Air Ambulance – after reports of a someone entrapped inside a van, following a road traffic collision.
The Magpas team assessed a man (in his 50’s) and worked alongside an EEAST Ambulance Crew to administer pain relief. Fortunately the patient’s injuries were not life-threatening. He was then taken to Bedford Hospital South Wing, in a stable condition, via Land Ambulance.
The Helicopter team who flew the Helimedix to the scene: Pilot Richard Eastwood and Crew Member Steve Hunwicks.
A Fire & Rescue Crew and the Police were also present. All the Emergency Services worked extremely well together.
