Bedford, man seriously injured in RTC – Magpas Air Ambulance fly to scene

At 7:57am this morning (22nd) Magpas Doctor Rosie Dwyer, Paramedic Dan Cody and Doctor Alistair Steel landed in Bedford via the Magpas Air Ambulance. They had been called to treat a man who had been injured in a collision between two cars.

The Magpas enhanced medical team assessed the patient (in his 40’s) who had sustained multiple injuries and sedated him at the scene (providing him with A&E level care). They then accompanied the patient to Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge, via land ambulance. The man was in a very serious but stable condition upon arrival.

The helicopter crew who flew the medical team were Chief Pilot Richard Eastwood and Crewmember George Phillips.

An EEAST Ambulance Service paramedic crew, Bedfordshire Police and the Fire and Rescue Service were also in attendance.
