At 7.48am this morning (30th) Magpas Doctor Scott Knapp and Paramedic Alex Pearce arrived in Bedford via the Magpas Air Ambulance rapid response vehicle. They had been called to treat a man who had been injured in a collision between two vehicles.
The Magpas enhanced medical team assessed the patient (in his 20’s) who had sustained a head injury. They placed the patient into a medically induced coma at the scene (providing him with A&E level care). Before an East Anglian Air Ambulance (EAAA) crew airlifted the man, who was in a stable condition, to Addenbrooke’s hospital in Cambridge.
An EAST Ambulance Service paramedic crew, Bedfordshire police and the Fire and Rescue Service were also in attendance.
