B1040 Nr Papworth, serious car vs motorcycle collision – Magpas Air Ambulance called to scene

At 6:16am yesterday morning (4th) Magpas Doctor Mike Carachi and Paramedic Steve Chambers arrived at the B1040 near Papworth via a Magpas Air Ambulance rapid response vehicle. They had been called to treat a man who had suffered life-changing injuries in a collision between a motorcycle and a car.

The Magpas enhanced medical team assessed the patient (in his 50’s) who had sustained a serious limb injury. They sedated the patient at the scene in order to protect his injuries and gave him advanced pain relief (providing him with A&E level care) before accompanying him to Addenbrooke’s Hospital via land ambulance. The patient was in a stable condition upon arrival.

An EEAST Ambulance Service paramedic crew and Cambridgeshire Police were also in attendance.
