A507 Nr Ampthill, man seriously injured in multi-vehicle collision – Magpas Air Ambulance called to scene

At 7:56pm yesterday evening (15th) Magpas Doctor Charlotte Haldane and Paramedic Steve Chambers arrived at the A507 near Ampthill via a Magpas Air Ambulance rapid response vehicle. They had been called to treat a man who had been seriously injured in a multi-vehicle collision.

The Magpas enhanced medical team assessed three patients at the scene, two of which were left in the care of the EEAST Ambulance Service paramedic crews.

One of the patients (in his 50’s) had sustained multiple serious injuries. The Magpas doctor-paramedic team gave the man strong pain relief and sedated him at the scene (providing him with A&E level care) before accompanying him to Addenbrooke’s Hospital via land ambulance. The patient was in a serious but stable condition upon arrival.

Bedfordshire Police and Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service were also in attendance.
