A428 Northampton, 3x vehicle collision – Magpas Air Ambulance flies to scene


At 11:50am this morning (13th) Magpas Doctor Charlotte Haldane and Paramedic Chris Hawkins flew to the A428 in Northampton via the Magpas Air Ambulance. They had been called to treat a man who had been trapped and injured in a 3x vehicle collision.

The Magpas enhanced medical team assessed the patient (in his 70’s), who had suffered multiple serious injuries, before they worked alongside the emergency services to safely get the man out of the vehicle. The Magpas team provided the patient with A&E level care at the roadside. The man was then airlifted to University Hospital Coventry, he was in a serious condition upon arrival.

The helicopter crew who flew the medical team and patient were Pilot Alistair Auchincloss and Crewmember George Phillips.

Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance, an EMAS Ambulance Service paramedic crew, Northamptonshire Police and the Fire and Rescue service were also in attendance.
