A1(M) nr Alconbury, lorry v cars – Magpas Air Ambulance flies to the scene

At 8.37am this morning (13th), Magpas Doctor Leigh Bissett and Paramedic Dan Cody landed beside the A1(M) near Alconbury, via the Magpas Air Ambulance, to treat a woman injured in a collision between a lorry and multiple cars.

The Magpas team assessed the woman (in her 20s) who was trapped inside her vehicle, and who had sustained multiple minor injuries. The medical team assisted Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service and EEAST Ambulance Service with extricating the woman from the vehicle.

She was then taken by land ambulance to Hinchingbrooke Hospital in a stable condition.

The helicopter crew who flew the medical team and patient were Chief Pilot Richard Eastwood and Crewmember Lee Kennedy.

Cambridgeshire Police were also in attendance.
